As you enter through the front door of the home, you’ll immediately realize the floor plan provides a sense of openness. Step past the Entry and Dining Room into the Great Room which is framed on both sides with a wall of windows and above is a magnificent elk chandelier. Through the windows you’ll see Mount Crested Butte, Nicholson Lake, and a mountain side of Aspens. Inside the Great Room you’ll notice two luxury custom couches capped off on one end with swiveling leather chairs so you don’t miss any part of the view and at the other end of the room sits a gas fireplace that’s so easy to use it just takes the push of a button.
As you exit the Great Room you’ll enter the wide open kitchen with all the appliances and cookware you could possibly need for your retreat. It is all centered around a large island with 4 bar stools as additional seating. The Great Room, Kitchen, and Dining Area is topped off with a powerful Sonos audio system to make entertaining or just relaxing the best. Off to the side of the kitchen is the back deck (our favorite room!) The deck is equipped with a Big Green Egg XL and 4 large adirondack chairs to create a wonderful setting for Hot Coffee or Hot Toddies. An outdoor dining space that seats 6 is available for those perfect summer and fall nights! You can also step right off the deck straight into the hot tub that seats 6. We highly recommend the hot tub at night when the dark sky is blanketed by stars. No light pollution and complete quiet at 9,000 feet altitude. That’s an experience you’ll never forget.
Back inside, the Master Bedroom is on the main level as well. Under it’s high pitched ceiling, it has a king size bed with luxury linens and serene mountain views. The Master Bathroom has heated tile and a double vanity with a shower and large walk-in closet.
Going downstairs from the main level, you’ll enter the Entertainment Den. It’s a fun room with an ultra-comfortable, sectional couch looking onto a 50” TV with Direct TV Satellite, Netflix, Apple TV, and decked out with SONOS for the ultimate in audio. Just past the TV is a large card table with 4 chairs perfect for a late afternoon of monopoly or late night poker. On the lower level there is also 2 more bedrooms and bathrooms with heated tile. One bedroom has a king size bed and one has a queen size bed both again with luxury linens and views like nowhere else. The lower level also has a laundry room with full size washer and dryer - great for getting ski clothes ready for another day on the slopes.
Back on the main level at the other end of the house you’ll pass the Powder Bath and then enter the Mudroom. This is a great place to hang ski coats, store hiking boots, gloves and hats in our custom cubbies. The heated floor is an added bonus that’s just one more little thing at CB Mountain Retreat that’ll make you smile on a cold day. From the Mudroom you can go up the backstairs to the Bunk Room. This room has 4 twin beds perfect for a kids’ hangout. Back down on the main level you can exit the home into the attached garage which is a “must-have” during the winter to keep your vehicle warm and dry.
This home is tucked away in a secluded location only 3.5 miles from downtown Crested Butte with easy access up the Slate River valley where you can spot Moose, Elk and Mule Deer during your drive up. If you’re headed to the slopes, they are only 5 miles away. It sits perched high on a mountainside overlooking the crystal clear 15 acre Nicholson Lake which is home to a variety of wildlife including Canadian Geese, Mallard Ducks and Beavers, and makes great stand up paddle-boarding, kayaking, and fly fishing!
As you drive into our quaint neighborhood of only 20 homes surrounding the private lake, you'll come to our place at almost the end of the road on the right. You'll notice the trophy elk and mule deer antlers on the home surrounded by Aspens, Blue Spruce, and Lodge Pole Pine.
CB Mountain Retreat is where the authentic Colorado experience begins. Take your choice:
-Slip into the hot tub and we highly recommend after the blanket of stars have covered the dark night sky
-Throw some horseshoes in the horseshoe pit on the north end of the property during the summer evenings

-Hike into hundreds of thousands of acres of National Forest (located right behind our home) with the famous Oh Be Joyful waterfall
-4X4 Jeep and Four wheeler opportunities everywhere with Paradise Pass a few miles up the road
-Fly fish the Slate River bordering the neighborhood for Brook Trout
-Standup paddle board, kayak, or fish our own private Nicholson Lake
-Mountain bike or hike the famous Lupine Trail just across the county road from our neighborhood, Alpine Meadows
