The best valued live water in Gillespie County is on this extraordinary 520 acre ranch that has been highly improved on the famous Willow City Loop with both sides of 3/4 of a mile of the crystal clear Coal Creek flowing through it. After driving down one of the most scenic roads in Texas, you'll pull off the paved road straight through the rustic limestone and metal entry onto Clear Creek Ranch. Right away you will notice the century old Oak trees with scattered Pecans and Elms along the banks of Coal Creek with a blanket of green grass and wildflowers galore. The ranch owns both sides of the creek with the best water location on the entire Willow City Loop - 13,000 acres of watershed comes down through the creek on this ranch. There are thousands of acres of pristine ranches up the Coal Creek Valley that all drain down into Waters Ranch. After pulling along the creek banks and weaving around the massive Oaks you will come to the 250 foot long concrete crossing thats 10 feet deep down into the creek bed. This massive concrete crossing was just finished up by experts that do a lot of concrete work on Lake LBJ in Horseshoe Bay. It's a beautiful sight to see and makes access super easy. Its very impressive and holds back about an acre of water thats absolutely gorgeous. The wildlife love this creek which includes ducks almost every time I drove across it this winter, turkeys roaming its side all spring long, and whitetail deer always looking for something to eat on both sides of the creek year round. My son caught a 4 pound largemouth bass out of a hole on the creek.
As you continue into the ranch, you will wind up to the other side of the creek that's lined with massive oaks and elms. This area in March and April is thick with bluebonnets and once they seed out, there are thousands of other flowers that come to life. A new wildflower painting each week! You drive down the creek side in complete shade with green grass carpeting the base of the trees. As you drive, you look down from the creek banks down onto Coal Creek as it winds it's way through the sand and gravel to your dammed up lake. There is a tall bluff across the creek lined with post oaks next to a hill that has awesome views down the creek and of distant mountains.
As you venture down the 10 miles of new roads to the back of the ranch, you'll notice a good increase in elevation. There are several nice hilltops with incredible views of the ranch and the surrounding mountains. The ranch has great soil throughout with many good spots that would do well in oats or something else as food plots. There are thick areas of oaks and really thick areas of brush to hold lots of deer and hogs. On the north end of the ranch is a really nice pond with a windmill on a well that pumps from a solar setup. Nice to have on those hot summer days!
As most anyone knows, it is extremely difficult to find a property on a paved road with live water surrounded by huge trees, 30 mile views, and new roads throughout. A bonus is all the neighbors that are 1,000+ acres and only 25 minutes to Fredericksburg, Llano, or Johnson City! 1.5 hours to Austin and San Antonio. This ranch has everything anyone desires with the live water, great soil, huge trees, and amazing views.
